Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom.Ganesha is also invoked as patron of letters and learning during writing sessions. In Hindu culture Lord Ganesha is considered to be Supreme Power and very auspicious.

The lamp is done by Ganesha painted on a Glass mason jar. I made this especially for my daughters birth announcement as he is the god of beginnings and he is honored at the start of rites and ceremonies.

The mason jar is outlined with black Outlier and filled with transparent glass paint to make it colorful. A tealight candle or LED light adds a beautiful sparkling effect to it. This will create any corner of your house as extra special. You can use it as home decor or as a gift to your friends and family.

Let's get started with this beautiful piece of art which I have customized in the easiest way, so that anyone can attempt to make it.

Supplies Required:

  • Mason Jar

  • LED light

  • Ganesha Image

  • Black glass outliner

  • Transparent Glass Paint

Let's get Started:

Step 1: Take a mason jar, ensure it's washed and clean.

Step 2: Print the image or draw it on glass. Using the outliner, highlights the borders of the image.

Step 3: Fill the colors in it.

Step 4: Add LED tights to it and the lamp is ready.

Note : The detailed steps are shown in the Youtube video added here.

During my childhood I was fascinated towards dreams, fairies, fairy tales and their stories like every other kid. So, this time I came up with a new DIY for my daughters room to enlighten the beauty of it.

It's super easy and fun to make with kids too. This can be used as a nightlight for kids room to have a tiny friend with them or keep it in garden to add the whimsical touch or use as a home decor in living or dining room.

It involves minimal stuff to create this beauty with a mason jar, little paint, dash of Sprinkles and a stencil along with tea lights to keep it glowing. The glow jar is finished with a cute string tied in a bow and a flower.

Let's get started !

  • Glitters

  • Fairy Cutouts

Step 1:

Take a Mason Jar and Cover it with White Acrylic Paint with the help of Dabber. It can be layered twice to get a smooth finish.

Step 2:

Take a Print out of fairy from internet and cut it precisely. Alternatively you can order the fairy cut outs from ETSY or Amazon. It is very easily available online. Then you can skip this step and continue with next step.

Step 3:

Apply an even layer of Mod Podge from inside. Sprinkle glitter and rotate the bottle to cover the inner wall properly.

Step 2

Step 4:

Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge on fairy Cut out and glue it on inner wall of Mason Jar. You can also apply thin layer of white glue in case of unavailability of Mod podge.

Step 4

Step 5:

Add a tea light at the bottom of Jar and cover with paper doilies. The lamp will be finished with a string tied in the form of bow. Small flower is added at the corner to brighten it.

Step 5

The Beautiful Fairy Lamp is ready to enhance the decor of the house.

My LO loves pretend play and reading books. So, got the idea from there to merge and make a Peppa pig puppet theatre with him. And of course what can be the best subject to choose other than Peppa Pig. Its all time favorite of my kids.

We read a lot of books and watched loads of episodes of Peppa pig and chose the current favorite of my son i.e. Peppa pig recycle bin story to be depicted by the puppet show.

This particular activity worked as a crafting as well as pretend play to kids. It's a great escape from screen time and great for parents to spend time with kids. It encourages imaginative and creative skills of kids. They learn to communicate effectively via puppets and enjoy at the very same time.

DIY Peppa pig Puppet Theatre

Let's get started with a fun project to do.

Supplies Required:

  • Cardboard shoe box

  • Popsicle sticks

  • Tissue Paper Roll

  • Green Craft Paper

  • Blue Craft Paper

  • Yellow foam sheets

  • Peppa pig family Printouts (Free Download printable)

  • Jenga sticks (optional)

  • Lego mini figurines (optional)

  • Glue

  • Scissors

  • Paper cutter

Let's get Started:

1. Cover the box: Cover the box from inside with blue and green craft paper to give it a look of sky and garden. Cut a circle and small stripes from a yellow foam sheet to make a sun and stick it on the left corner. This creates a beautiful background for any story. Now to add an extra touch stick few multi color paper pieces as stone at the bottom with the help of white glue.

2. Cut the box on the bottom

Mark a big thick line at the center on the bottom. With the help of a paper cutter, cut the lines well to move the puppets smoothly.

3. Making of Puppets

I have taken the reference of the 'Peppa pig Recycling fun’ story book. So, I took the printout of all the characters of it like Peppa Pig, George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Mr. Bull and Ms Rabbit.

The printout templates can be free downloaded here.

Cut the shapes from the printout and stick to Popsicle sticks and puppets are ready.

4. Heading

The word THEATRE is added on top of the box and it’s also available to free download here.

5. Base of the theatre

Three tissue paper rolls covered in colored craft paper are taken and added to the base of the box. I arranged it as a triangle and stuck it to the base with a glue gun to give a firm structure.

6. Audience

Theatre is ready and to add a special touch me and my son added few audience. He is very fond of Lego’s so he kept his Lego men to listen to his stories. I added Jenga sticks to give a sense of benches for those Lego men :) The audience enhances the overall experience.
